
Enugu State is set to witness another major step in its drive towards modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation as His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, will on Thursday, 14th August 2025, officially commission the Holy Ghost Transport Terminals alongside a fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses in Enugu North Local Government Area.According to an announcement from the Enugu North Local Government Council, the event will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Terminal, and will be attended by government officials, transport stakeholders, and members of the public.The landmark project, described as a game changer for urban mobility in the state capital, is designed to improve public transportation efficiency, reduce travel time, and promote cleaner energy use in line with the Governor’s sustainable development agenda. The introduction of CNG-powered buses will also help cut down on carbon emissions, reduce dependence on petrol and diesel, and lower transport costs for residents.Speaking ahead of the commissioning, the Enugu North Local Government Chairman highlighted the project as a symbol of the administration’s commitment to “Driving Development, Connecting Communities,” noting that the modern terminal will serve as a central hub for seamless movement of people and goods within and beyond the city.The Holy Ghost Transport Terminals, located in one of Enugu’s busiest transit points, are expected to become a model for integrated transportation infrastructure in the state, boosting economic activity while providing commuters with safer, more comfortable, and more reliable travel options.Thursday’s commissioning is expected to draw a large turnout of residents eager to witness what many describe as a historic leap forward for Enugu’s transport sector.
